While Researchers are increasingly subject to policies which require them to manage and share their data, most have not had any formal training or previous experience to allow them to do so. Data sharing is associated with more citations: the citation benefit differs by discipline, but on average it as associated with a 25% increase in citations, and in some disciplines this is as high as 50%!
There are 3 modules as part of this 1-day online workshop:
Module 1: Research Data and Your Chosen Journal – with Jeffrey Robens
Module 2: Research Data and Preparing Your Manuscript – with Harry Shirley
Module 3: Research Data at Publication and Beyond – with Harry Shirley
Participants will learn how research data sharing intersects with the journal publishing; what their editors and peer reviewers expect; and the easiest and most beneficial ways to comply with journal research data policies. The modules follow the publishing workflow from manuscript submission to publication and beyond, demonstrating how research data sharing can benefit authors at every step.
This workshop is designed to complement existing “Research Data Training” by focusing on research data sharing as it relates to manuscript submission and publication.
The online workshop is highly interactive and practical, with discussion, exercises and interaction with the trainers via polls / hands-up / live questions!
