NeuroMac Summer School, 19th – 21st May 2019
16 NeuroMac School students from all 3 sites (Berlin, Freiburg and Rehovot) participated this year in the NeuroMac Summer School, which took place at the Weizmann Institute of Science (WIS) in Rehovot, Israel.
May 19th: The welcome event was a workshop on the topic of “Evaluation and perspectives of NeuroMac School”, starting with a progress report of the NeuroMac School coordinators followed by a brainstorming session on activities of students in the program until the end of 2020.
May 20th: At the Koffler Tower (WIS), the students presented the progress of their projects followed by discussion with other students and PIs. In the afternoon, Dr. Pablo Blinder (Tel Aviv University) and Dr. Yaniv Ziv (Weizmann Insitute of Science) held a mini-symposium on the topics of: “In vivo optical imaging of the neurovascular milieu” and “Optical-imaging based investigation of the neural code for long-term memory”, respectively. These talks provided a fascinating introduction into their scientific work on optical imaging techniques in neuroscience research and spatial memory.
May 21st: All students and PIs traveled to Akko to participate in the annual NeuroMac Retreat of the CRC TRR 167.
